Tagetes Minuta Flower Oil is steam-distilled from Tagetes minuta L. (African marigold) flowers. It contains alpha-terthienyl (terthiophene), a potent phototoxic compound. The SCCS concluded a maximum of 0.01% in leave-on products is safe, provided alpha-terthienyl content doesn't exceed 0.35%. Banned in sunscreen products.
