About GALLOYL DIPEPTIDE-8 AMIDE
A phenolic acid-peptide conjugate combining gallic acid with a dipeptide, providing antioxidant and skin-protecting properties.
Detailed Analysis
Formed by conjugating gallic acid (3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid) to a dipeptide via amide bond. Galloyl groups provide antioxidant activity through phenolic hydroxyls, which can scavenge free radicals. Gallic acid is naturally occurring in many plants (tea, gallnuts) and is permitted in cosmetics. The peptide component is synthetic and adds conditioning benefits. No EU restrictions in Annexes II–VI; however, phenolic compounds may cause mild contact sensitivity in predisposed individuals.
